At fifty posts in, I'm changing things up a bit. I know, I should be more consistent and not flake out on that super catchy name I had (Sabrina Klomp photography). But this is better.
This week brought some fresh inspiration and direction for my photography. I've been actively pursuing wedding photography, but something still felt amiss. Lacking, just a little. In my research and studying I came across some simple, but meaningful, advice. "Do what you're passionate about." Simple enough, right? Seems like I should know that already.
I began to think of my photography with a new question in mind:
Why do I love it? Why have I continued to take photos for so many years?
Then I saw it was about the people.
It's the beauty, unique personalities and backgrounds, the strength, achievement, emotion, creativity, and possibility I've found in each one. And it's these qualities I find unrestricted by the geography, monetary status, career, or culture. That's my favorite part.
Thus One, Another is birthed.
It is about the one and the other, and the connection that brings them together.
Encompassing love, business, art, music, family, food, wine, nature, religion, dreams, travels-- it's about life, in short.
So my photography, which continues to encompass weddings and portraiture, will feature more of a photojournalistic focus.
I am excited to begin doing a Profile series on businesses and people in (and out of) my area.
There is now a 'Submission' link on the right if you're interested in being featured.

I am passionate about telling stories that connect one to another.
Let me tell yours.
