Ragged Point is a gem. It's a little pitstop on the way to Big Sur and if you're into good views and overpriced Cheetos, you'll love it.
I love visiting corny touristy spots, like I'm vacationing in my every day life. You'll find me taking along my camera everywhere, gawking at this endless beauty here in the Central Coast.
Matt and I spent a good amount of time looking over the carved railing here. A few months ago we visited Painted Rock, where ancient peoples left their marks on stones that endured time and erosion. We love leaving our mark as humans, from the earliest ages to today. I don't understand it, but I love that it's this subtle bit of human nature. That carving two sets of initials inside of a heart shape means something significant to so many.
It makes me feel like I'm communicating with a ghost of a human, unknown to me of their current whereabouts, lifestyle, or existence. There's a spot near my house where someone painted in bright green-blue paint 'LIVE FULLY.' I love that reminder on my walks to downtown and that it was important enough to them to paint it out in scribbled cursive.
