Hardt Family

I always love spending time with the Hardt family when I'm in Texas! Kristina and I met in Hawaii when we were in photography school together. Now she is married with the most darling little man and has a blog that I love to frequent. I had the joy of taking their family photos at the Dallas Farmer's Market. We were almost rained out but found a sweet little nursery to shoot in!

Beach Relaxing

Full schedules and busy days create a pace of striving and my sense of control hanging just beyond my reach. The words above sit like a scripture in my heart this week. I go to nature for rest and I find peace in its mystery. In the stillness of the boardwalk, upon the earth's sandy floor and in the quiet hum of life there is a secret. Each piece of life tells of clues, but the charm of it all lies within no specific thing. When my heart is stilled I sense it-- a peace and rest that evades my working day. 

The pace of humanity is of doing. Achievement and value rests on the shoulders of the doer and the seeker. Nature, you are slower and obedient to your original design. You are and you remain perfect, without striving, comparison, frustration, or adversary. I learn from your wisdom to rest in belonging to Him. 

Post Rain

Filled with gratitude for this much needed rain. Every living thing I've come across this week beams with 

refreshment at the stormy weather. Just outside my door, nature composes itself beautifully. I adore this earth. 

Adventures with Matt: Limekiln State Park

Lana Del Rey is playing softly on my computer. My floor is finally vacuumed after weeks of neglect. It's breezy outside and the cloudy light is spilling through my shades, making my little apartment feel still and peaceful.
I fell asleep while editing these photos, which feels pathetic. 

It's been a busy couple of weeks. 

I had the radical, awesome privilege of helping to shoot some weddings last weekend in Pebble Beach, then Squaw Valley.
Such a blast. Another wedding comes up tomorrow in Santa Ynez, and the wedding season is here. 

These are some sweet memories of Matt + I's second anniversary adventure over at Limekiln State Park.
